Prior Seasons

The Tanner Catalano Foundation, in partnership with the Arizona High School Hockey Association, is pleased to announce the Tanner Catalano/AHSHA award. These Senior Varsity players exhibit the qualities of hard work, perseverance, intensity, and humility.

The recipients of this award have proven to be leaders for their teams both on and off the ice, in the community, and exemplify good moral character, all while maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

This prestigious award has been given to the top Senior players who were nominated by their High School Hockey Head Coach. Nominees were asked to complete the application process by submitting an autobiography focused on how hockey has shaped their life and made them a leader, their current High School Transcripts, and 3 letters of recommendation. A committee made up of members from the Tanner Catalano Foundation and Arizona High School Hockey Association reviewed over 20 applications and narrowed it down to an elite few.

Each recipient of this award receives a $2,500 scholarship check and a plaque.

Kelzi Olson (Flagstaff), Jackson White (Basha Perry), Oliver Groft (Brophy)

Team Arizona is comprised of the best players in AHSHA and travels to compete in the Lone Star Showcase, where they can be scouted by Junior and College teams from around North America. States from around the country, composed of their best High School players, all attend to create some of the best competition our Arizona players see during their High School Hockey careers. 

In 2025 the team went 5-0 and reclaimed the Lone Star Boot for the second consecutive year.
