Documents and Training Required for Coaches

We are always looking for Coaches that are interested in helping develop High School Hockey Players in Arizona. To get started please review the list of documents and training required for all approved AHSHA Coaches. Then submit the 2025-2026 Coaches Application.

Below is a list of documents and training required for all approved AHSHA Coaches.

AHSHA and USA Hockey Coaching Requirements:

1. AHSHA Coaches Application (Deadline 9/30)
2. USA Hockey Registration (Deadline 9/30)
3. USA Hockey SafeSport Certification (Deadline 8/1, Renew/Refresh Every Year)
4. Complete USA Hockey Background Screening (Deadline 8/1, Renew Every 2 Years)
5. Complete USA Hockey Coaches Education Program/CEP (Deadline 12/31 Every Year as required by USA Hockey)
6. Complete USA Hockey Age Specific Module 13+ (Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed)
7. Complete "Concussion in Sports - What you need to know" through the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS). (Only need to complete once)

All Program Head Coaches must be approved by the AHSHA Executive Committee prior to the start of the regular season each fall in order to be eligible to be in the locker room, on the ice or on the bench with the team. All Head and Assistant Coaches will be approved by the Program Head Coach.
